Sonya Tanae Fort is an award-winning fine art photographer whose work explores identity, intimacy, and lived experience through a quiet, observational lens. Her practice centers on human connection—moments of tenderness, presence, and reflection that reveal meaning beyond the surface.
Working primarily in black and white, Fort creates images that are both personal and universal in scope. Her photographs resist spectacle, instead inviting the viewer into stillness and contemplation. Each image is approached as a complete work, designed to stand on its own while contributing to a larger, cohesive body of work.
Fort’s photographs have been exhibited internationally in galleries and museums throughout the United States, Canada, England, Greece, Hungary, Italy, and Spain. Her exhibited body of work includes over 130 photographs presented in solo and group exhibitions.
All works are produced as limited edition, museum-quality archival prints. Each piece is signed and numbered by the artist, with editions intentionally kept small to preserve integrity, rarity, and long-term value.
The work is created for private collections, exhibitions, and thoughtfully curated interiors.
